History
In 2010-2011, around 20 prominent industrialists of Ludhiana got together as a Cluster under the name of “CONSORTIUM OF LUDHIANA MACHINE TOOL MANUFACTURES” and got enrolled under the “Technology upgrading & Productivity Enhancement of the Machine Tool Industry in India” programme of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in which Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and International Centre for Advancement of Manufacturing Technology (ICAMT) played a major role.
As the manufacturing and other related activities of our Cluster companies started improving after visiting various domestic and overseas exhibitions and companies under the UNIDO programme and after passage of time, it was felt that we should help other machine tool manufacturers to stay updated in every field of their manufacturing process. Keeping this aspect in mind, Association of Ludhiana Machine Tool Industries (ALMTI) was established in the year 2012 by a handful of Machine Tool Industries as its members who were the iconic figures of the Machine Tool Industry. ALMTI had a phenomenal growth since its inception as its membership now stands at a staggering 450+ members and the numbers are still kept on growing.
The paramount objective of establishing ALMTI was to address and find solutions to the numerous issues faced by the Machine Tool Industry. Ludhiana is known as the “MANCHESTER” of the country as the city is the manufacturing hub for manufacturing and supplying many mother machines required in various major sectors viz Railways, Shipping, Defense, Agriculture Implements, Bicycles, Aviation, Sewing Machines, Hosiery, Textiles etc. and the Machine Tool Industry plays a pivotal role in fulfilling the requirements of those and other sectors as well.
Now, ALMTI is one of the largest Machine Tool Manufacturers Associations in Punjab having strength of 450+ members.
“ALMTI ALWAYS STRIVES TO SUSTAIN THE GLORY OF LUDHIANA MACHINE TOOL INDUSTRIES”
